In ISO 32000 PDF architecture, every page object contains an optional `/Rotate` dictionary key that specifies the clockwise rotation in multiples of 90 degrees (0, 90, 180, 270). Many PDF viewers only temporarily rotate the display view without altering the underlying file structure. When printed or opened on another device, the pages revert to their sideways orientation.
