Privacy Policy & Data Security

Transparency, zero-knowledge processing, and uncompromising user data protection.

At PDFPK.COM (accessible from pdfpk.com), your privacy is not merely a legal checkbox—it is the foundational engineering principle upon which our entire software architecture is constructed. This Privacy Policy details our technical data practices, our zero-knowledge client-side processing architecture, and your legal rights under global data protection frameworks including the European General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA/CPRA), and the UK GDPR.

Zero-Knowledge Client-Side Processing Architecture

The vast majority of PDFPK utilities (including Merge, Split, Rotate, Delete Pages, Organize, Sign PDF, Add Page Numbers, Watermark, PDF to Images, and Metadata Editing) operate 100% client-side inside your web browser using WebAssembly and HTML5 Canvas. Your documents, text, signatures, and images are loaded exclusively into your device’s volatile RAM and are never transmitted over the internet to our servers.

1. Zero-Registration & Data Minimization Principle

In strict adherence to the Principle of Data Minimization (Article 5(1)(c) of the GDPR), PDFPK does not require you to create an account, register your personal identity, provide an email address, or input payment information to use our tools. You can use our complete suite of PDF utilities anonymously.

2. Server-Side Processing & Ephemeral File Destruction

For specialized tasks that require server computational assistance (such as complex OpenXML DOCX parsing), files are transmitted exclusively over 256-bit SSL/TLS encrypted HTTPS channels directly to hardened processing nodes.

  • No Document Inspection: Automated processing software handles your files; no human ever inspects, reads, or accesses your document content.
  • No Data Harvesting: We do not extract text, emails, phone numbers, or metadata to build marketing profiles, train machine learning models, or sell to data brokers.
  • Automated Ephemeral Deletion: Any temporary scratch files created during server-side processing are automatically and permanently purged by automated cleanup daemons within 60 minutes of processing.

3. Cookies, Analytics & Advertising Disclosures

PDFPK respects user privacy choices and adheres to the Interactive Advertising Bureau (IAB) Transparency and Consent Framework (TCF) standards:

  • Strictly Necessary Cookies: We use lightweight session storage and CSRF tokens strictly necessary to maintain security and ensure tool functionality.
  • Optional Analytics: Anonymized website analytics only load after you grant explicit consent via our cookie consent banner. You may change or withdraw your consent at any time by clicking "Privacy Choices" in the site footer.
  • Advertising Standards: We may display non-intrusive advertisements (such as Google AdSense) to support our free infrastructure. Third-party ad vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on prior visits to our website or other websites. Users may opt out of personalized advertising by visiting Google Ad Settings (adssettings.google.com).

4. Your Rights Under GDPR & CCPA/CPRA

Depending on your geographic location, you enjoy statutory rights regarding personal data:

  • Right to Know & Access: You have the right to request confirmation of whether any personal data concerning you is processed.
  • Right to Erasure (Right to be Forgotten): You have the right to demand immediate deletion of your submitted inquiries or messages.
  • Right to Non-Discrimination: We never discriminate against any user who exercises their statutory privacy rights.
