How to Split a PDF into Pages or Extract a Page Range

Extract a selected page range into a new PDF, or save each page as a separate PDF in a ZIP archive.

Splitting a PDF can mean two different things: extracting a continuous range into a new document, or creating one separate file per page. Decide which output you need before starting, and keep the original in case you select the wrong page numbers.

Extract a range into one PDF

Open Split PDF, choose one file, and enter the page numbers or ranges requested by the tool. The range uses the PDF’s physical page numbers, beginning at 1. Download the output PDF and verify its first and last pages.

Save each page separately

Select the option to split all pages. PDFPK creates one single-page PDF per input page and packages them in a ZIP archive. The server must have ZIP support enabled. Extract the archive on your device to access the individual files.

Limits and troubleshooting

The page parser may not support every PDF feature or encryption type. A password-protected, damaged, or unusually encoded file can fail. If a specific page is needed, use range mode rather than creating a large archive of every page.

Article FAQ

Can I extract nonconsecutive pages?

The range field accepts comma-separated page numbers and ranges, such as 1, 4-6. Confirm the output page selection after downloading.

Does splitting lower image quality?

The tool rebuilds pages from the PDF parser’s imported page content. Compatibility and preservation of special PDF features can vary; review the output.
